Stone iPhone Stand
Necessity is the mother of invention. My faithful and ancient alarm has started to fail me, the buttons are sticking and the alarm switch doesn’t always seem to work. Also, I have a weird work schedule so my alarm doesn’t go off everyday at the same time. Because of that I’ve been looking at various day off the week alarms and have considered a couple of the iPhone alarm clocks. Today, I took the plunge and purchase “Best Alarm” for $.99. I put it through it’s paces and decided that it seemed serviceable, but I needed stand to hold my phone so that I could see it at those annoying moments in the middle of the night when I wake up for no particular reason. I had quite a few left over cut-offs of soapstone from remodeling the kitchen, so I’ve crafted a stand that holds the iPhone both in the vertical and horizontal position. Not content with just one, I also made one for my wife and one for work.

‘Inception’ = Schrodinger’s cat?
I had an interesting evening, I went to see a movie by myself; this is something that I have never done before and I found to be somewhat rewarding, exceptions being that someone decided to sit next to me in the over-crowded cinema. I have had multitudes of friends see ‘Inception’ over the last week and all their reviews have been positive, hence the need to see it. I, however, felt that while the movie had certain elements of new (un-Hollywood) ideas it played on the more mathematical / philosophical of concept of Schrodinger’s cat (the basis of multiple dimensions and string theory). While this is a brilliant idea to base a movie off of, I can’t call it new. Mainly, I felt that the movie failed to explain several key principles as to how this dream state worked and how the characters connected to each other in the dream world. The character development was un-dimensional and predictible, and inter-personal relationships felt weak. I never felt drawn-in and connected to the movie in a way that would make me question my own reality like so many of us did after seeing ‘The Matrix’. Visually, it was stunning; several times during the film there was an audible gasp from the audience as to the CGed landscapes. All this to say, brilliant movie with stunning effects but I think it could have been better.
Good morning
I just got mistaken as a homeless person by a homeless person. I am conflicted as to how I should feel about this especially because I’m on my way to work on my new house. Does this constitute irony?
Anyone care to help?
